Inevitably, August will come. The prelim will happen. Hopefully, I'll pass, even if it is by some super-slim margin.
On a day like today (and on all the days ahead of me too) it is good to remember there is life after the prelim exam. Not only life, but some actual things to look forward to.
My sister is coming to visit after the exam and before I go to ASA/SWS. She hasn't been here in a few years, and I'm sure we'll have lots of fun.
And I just got my tickets today to go to Philly for the convention. Getting the tickets always makes upcoming trips more of a reality. My hotel room and roommates are also squared away, and despite my general anxiety about the prelim, I am also very much so looking forward to seeing people at the convention. I'll either be leaning on them for "help me stop myself from dropping out of grad school" support or there will be some celebrating. I've also never been to Philly, and unlike Atlanta where I didn't know anyone there at all, let alone to sightsee with, this time I am going to do some sightseeing.
